Early Returns
The numbers are out for the first seven weeks of operation for the Cleveland and Toledo casinos, as well as the racino at Scioto Downs.
According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission, the three gambling facilities combined brought in $23.5 million for the state. The individual breakdown is as follows:
- The Cleveland casino generated $39 million in total gambling revenue with $13 million going to the state;
- The Toledo casino generated $20.4 million in total gambling revenue with $6.8 million going to the state;
- Scioto Downs VLTs generated $11.1 million in total gambling revenue with $3.7 million going to the state. Lottery officials had projected $3 million for the state in month one.
