At its last meeting, the Ohio Casino Control Commission approved the opening date of October 8 for the Hollywood Casino in Columbus. Coincidently October 8 is Columbus Day. The date is a Monday which will allow the casino to ease into the busy weekend.

The OCCC also announced that its director of licensing and investigation, Chris Storcella, is stepping down. He is returning to New Jersey to be with his family.
