Penn National Acquires Pinnacle Entertainment

Penn National Acquires Pinnacle Entertainment

The Federal Trade Commission has approved a $2.8 billion merger between Penn National Gaming and Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. Penn National owns and operates two casinos (Hollywood Columbus and Hollywood Toledo) and two racinos (Hollywood Mahoning Valley and Hollywood Dayton) in Ohio. Pinnacle Entertainment owns and operates a racino (Belterra Park) in Ohio.

As part of the acquisition, Pinnacle had to divest itself of casino properties near St. Louis, Kansas City and Cincinnati. This includes Belterra Park. Boyd Gaming Corp., based in Nevada, will take over operation of Belterra Park.
