At least five sweepstakes cafes in Cleveland have received notification from a major bank that their business checking accounts are being closed. Café owners believe the banks are being pressured by prosecutors and the media. The Cuyahoga County prosecutor has denied these allegations.

The 10th District Court of Appeals has upheld a Franklin County Court of Common Pleas decision that dismissed a lawsuit challenging VLTs at Ohio’s horse racing tracks. Appellate judges agreed that Ohio Roundtable had no legal standing to sue. Ohio Roundtable is considering their next move.
