U.S. Supreme Court Strikes Down Federal Law Prohibiting Sports Gambling

The United States Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, passed in 1992, that prohibited states from legalizing sports betting. Prior to this ruling only 4 states had some form of sports gambling, although Nevada was the only state where full-on sports gambling was legal. The other 3 states that had some form of sports gambling were Montana, Delaware and Oregon. The Supreme Court ruling basically allows each state to decide whether or not to allow sports gambling in their own state.
