The “skill game parlor” industry continues to wane. In 2014, Lance’s Skill Game Challenge in New Philadelphia was raided. Cash in the amount of $2,000 and 37 slot-machine gambling devices were seized in the raid. Owner Robert Lance of Fairfield Township, in Tuscarawas County, was indicted on four counts of gambling and four counts of operating a gambling house. Lance has now agreed to plead guilty, forfeit the cash and slot-machines, and complete a diversion program to resolve the charges.
