Raffle Machine Lawsuit

In October of 2013, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine ordered the shutdown of electronic raffle machines at VFW posts and fraternal organizations, claiming the games were illegal gambling. Plaintiffs filed a lawsuit contending that the machines are a permissible form of charitable gaming. In December of 2013, a judge issued a temporary restraining order allowing the games to continue pending the outcome of the lawsuit. A trial date has been scheduled for June 16 in front of Judge Stephen McIntosh in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.
