Revenues Up in March
Two of the four casinos and six of the seven racinos saw revenue increases over a year ago. Horseshoe Cleveland had the highest revenues among the casinos with $19.6 million. However, this was a 1% decline from a year ago. Hollywood Columbus, with revenues of $19 million, was up 4% from a year ago. Hollywood Toledo had its best month in four years. Revenues of $18.2 million were up 5% from a year ago. Horseshoe Cincinnati was down 3%, with revenues of $17 million.
Hard Rock Rocksino led the way among the racinos. Its revenues of $20.2 million were a 9.1% increase over a year ago. Scioto Downs was up 2.6% ($13.4 million), Miami Valley Gaming up 11.6% ($12.2 million), Hollywood Mahoning up 11.4% ($8.9 million) and Hollywood Dayton up 2.2% ($7.9 million). Belterra Park was up a whopping 44.7% ($6.6 million) from a year ago. This can probably be attributed to the fact the venue was closed for four days in March 2015 due to flooded roads. JACK Thistledown, which closed for a day as it rebranded itself, showed the only decline for the month over last year with revenues of $9.4 million (-5.3%).
