Penn National Gaming has pulled out of its joint venture with Endeka Entertainment LP to build a racino in Lawrence County, PA. The Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course racino, also operated by Penn National Gaming, is less than 30 minutes away from the proposed Pennsylvania site near New Castle. The chief development officer for Penn National Gaming attributed the pullout to the “continued softness in the economy and the level of market saturation.”

Penn National Gaming has also filed a lawsuit in Berks County Court of Common Pleas against Endeka, asking the court to reaffirm their right to withdraw from the partnership.
