Racinos are a Go Again
The Ohio State Racing Commission has approved the license transfers for Penn National Gaming to relocate its horse racing tracks at Beulah Park in Grove City to Austintown and Raceway Park in Toledo to Dayton.
The issue over seating was resolved when the racing commission accepted Penn National Gaming’s latest proposal. For the Austintown track, there will be two phases. Phase 1 will have 513 enclosed seats with a track view and phase 2 will add 488 enclosed seats with a track view. There will be no outdoor seating. Both phases must be completed before the racing season begins. For the Dayton site, the track will have 1,037 indoor seats with a view of the track.
Penn National Gaming has until June 15 to certify to the racing commission that each track will open with at least 1,000 seats.
