VLT Appeal
The Ohio Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case challenging the legality of Ohio’s racinos. Last year a Franklin County trial court judge ruled Ohio Roundtable had no legal standing to challenge the constitutionality of VLTs at Ohio’s horse racing tracks. Earlier this year, the 10th District Court of Appeals upheld that decision. Before deciding on this case, the Ohio Supreme Court will rule on another case involving legal standing. JobsOhio is a nonprofit corporation created by Governor Kasich to administer the state’s economic development. Opponents challenged the constitutionality of JobsOhio. As with the racinos, two lower courts have ruled JobsOhio opponents had no legal standing.
