Cuyahoga County Orders Internet Cafes Closed

Amherst to Allow Internet Cafes

After debating Internet cafes for over a year, the city of Amherst, located west of Cleveland, has passed an ordinance that will regulate and license these businesses. Previously, two moratoriums had been placed on these cafes. The law goes into effect June 15.

Case Dismissed

Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Timothy Horton has dismissed the lawsuit brought by Ohio Roundtable last October, challenging the constitutionality of Ohio’s casinos and VLTs at the state’s horse racetracks. This most likely removes the last legal hurdle facing the opening of the Scioto Downs racino on Friday.
