An unusually mild December helped increase revenues at 9 of Ohio\u2019s 11 gaming facilities.\u00a0Hollywood Toledo led the charge among the casinos – its\u00a0December revenues of $16.8 million represented an 11.3% increase over last year.\u00a0Hollywood Columbus revenues of $18.2 million were up 5.2%.\u00a0Horseshoe Cincinnati saw its revenues ($17.7 million) increase 4%.\u00a0Horseshoe Cleveland had the highest revenues for December ($18.8 million), but that was an 11.7% decline over last year.<\/p>\n
Belterra Park saw the greatest percentage increase.\u00a0The $5.9 million in December revenues was a 20.4% increase over last year. Hard Rock Rocksino generated the most revenue.\u00a0The $18.9 million, an all-time high since the racino opened was a 19.6% increase over last year.\u00a0Miami Valley Gaming, with revenues of $11.1 million (15.6% increase) and Hollywood Dayton, with revenues of $7.2 million (7.5% increase) each had their second highest month since opening.\u00a0Scioto Downs was up 14.3% ($12.8 million) and Hollywood Mahoning Valley was up 8.3% ($7.8 million).\u00a0Thistledown, in the midst of renovations, experienced a 6.6% decline ($8.5 million) over last year.<\/p>\n
The racinos continue to exceed expectations.\u00a0The state\u2019s seven racinos brought in a combined $831 million in revenue for all of 2015.\u00a0This represents a 28% increase over 2014, when not all of the facilities were open.\u00a0Meanwhile, the four casinos continue to underperform.\u00a0While the $81.2 million in revenue in 2015 was a 1.3% increase over 2014, it was 42% less than what was projected in 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
