This is the first time an operating company has been sanctioned. The casino will pay a $15,000 fine for using software not approved by the commission. The casino will also be required to have an employee with a state gaming license oversee the software. That employee could also be sanctioned if there is another violation.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The issue was not about the legality of the software. The casino began using the software when it opened in May before it was tested by an independent lab and approved by the commission. This continued until September when the casino self-reported the violation.
