Ohio\u2019s four casinos and one established racino all experienced deep declines in revenue for the month of April.<\/p>\n
Horseshoe Cleveland experienced the steepest decline, dropping 18.8% to $19.89 million, from March. Part of that decline may be due to the opening of the state\u2019s second racino at Thistledown, which took in $7.96 million from slots in its first month of operation.<\/p>\n
Next was Horseshoe Cincinnati, where revenues dropped 15.2% to $17.82 million from March. Hollywood Columbus had revenues of $18.08 million, a 13.7% decline from March and Hollywood Toledo had revenues of $16.39 million, an 8.2% decrease from March. Overall, revenues from the four casinos dropped 14.4% from March.<\/p>\n
The racino at Scioto Downs also experienced a decline in revenue, down 9.9% to $11.36 million from March.<\/p>\n
Owners are not overly concerned. April is typically a slower month for casinos. And this April had one less weekend than March. Weekends are usually significantly better business days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
