VLT Lawsuit
The Ohio Supreme Court has heard oral arguments on whether a party has standing to file a lawsuit arguing against the constitutionality of VLTs at Ohio’s horse racing tracks. A Franklin County court originally dismissed the lawsuit, saying the plaintiffs didn’t have the right to file. The decision was upheld by the Ohio Court of Appeals. That led to an appeal being filed with the Ohio Supreme Court. A decision is expected in the next several months. This case is only on the issue of standing. If the Ohio Supreme Court overturns the lower courts decisions, the plaintiffs will still have to prove their case in trial court.
