In last month’s election, the citizens of Green passed a charter amendment banning casino gambling and horse racing in their city. The issue was put on the ballot because of discussion that the Thistledown racino in North Randall was contemplating relocation to Green. Owners of Thistledown opted to stay put for now. And the vote may have been all for naught. According to the city law director, only the state can regulate gambling.
