Hollywood Toledo was the only casino that saw a revenue increase over July, with a 2.9% increase to $15.86 million. The biggest decline was Horseshoe Cleveland with revenues of $18.91 million, a 4.8% decrease over July. This represented Horseshoe Cleveland’s lowest total since opening in May of 2012. Casino Fined

Hollywood Toledo became the second casino to be fined by the Ohio Casino Control Commission for gaming violations. A blackjack table was operating outside the range of video surveillance and unapproved slot machines were being used. Hollywood Toledo admitted to the violations and agreed to pay a $30,000 fine.

All four casinos showed revenue increases in July, after all had declined in June. In fact, among all casinos and racinos, only Scioto Downs showed a decline. If an amendment to the state’s proposed budget bill is passed and becomes law, Ohio’s casinos, VLTs and even Internet cafes will be required to send camera images of every customer to the state.

Horseshoe Cincinnati was the leader here, with $6.92 million in free play. At the other end of the spectrum was Hollywood Columbus with $1.82 million in free play. Horseshoe Cleveland checked in with $6.2 million, the Thistledown racino at $5.16 million and the Scioto Downs racino at $3.82 million.
