Cuyahoga County Orders Internet Cafes Closed

The prosecutor of Cuyahoga County says that Internet cafes are illegal gambling businesses. He has sent letters to all 50 café owners ordering them to cease business operations immediately.

An indictment against ten individuals and seven businesses that provide the software system used in these cafes charges them with racketeering, money laundering and illegal gambling.

J&C Marketing, LLC, which owns two of the cafes has filed a temporary restraining order to stop the closings. A judge will hear the motion on Monday, June 11.
